Membership

Join NT Shelter - download the 2010/2011 Membership form.

Our Membership NT Shelter has 2 classes of membership;

Ordinary members have full voting rights and may be individuals or non-government organisations

Associate members may be government department representatives or Association employees but have no voting rights.

NT Shelter has approximately 6 individual and 40 organisational members.

NT Shelter advocates on behalf of all low income and disadvantaged groups and consumers not just on behalf of our members. Membership however is extremely important.

By becoming a member you are joining an organisation that:

  • represents the housing needs of low income and other disadvantaged groups,
  • seeks to influence government housing policy at both Territory and the national level and,
  • improves housing outcomes for low income and other disadvantaged groups.

Our ability to achieve these results depends on the support of a wide cross section of individuals and organisations active on housing issues.  Other membership benefits include;

  • Voting rights at General Meetings and eligibility for representation on the Board of Management
  • Priority access to NT Shelter forums, conferences and project based events and activities
  • Input to the development of NT and national housing policy
  • Access to the National Shelter network, external information and research collections
  • Free use of NT Shelter resources, meeting room and reference library
  • A link from the NT Shelter website to your own
  • Links with others in the housing sector
  • Contributing towards creating a more just and equitable society
