COVID-19 Service Changes: Katherine Region

The following services in the Katherine region have been amended, temporarily closed, or opened in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • The Salvation Army Katherine Doorways Hub are operating restricted hours (8:30am-12pm Monday to Friday), with services (breakfast, access to health hardware, lunch, wellbeing activities) being accessed from the car park. (correct as at 3 April 2020)

  • CatholicCare NT offices Katherine will cease shop front services. Services may be accessed through a dedicated support telephone line: 1800 899 855.

  • Relationships Australia NT counselling services will be conducted via phone and video calls until further notice (correct as at 30 March 2020)

  • All DCLS Seniors and Disability Rights, Tenants Advice and General Legal Services are undertaking all appointments by phone or video link-up. Please phone 8982 1111 for appointments. (Correct as at 30 March 2020)

  • St Vincent de Paul Society homelessness services in Katherine will conduct appointments and assessments by phone only. Call 8948 8100.

  • The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency offices are temporarily closed to clients and the general public. Clients with upcoming court matters or in need of legal assistance can get in touch by calling 1800 897 728. (correct as at 14 April 2020)

  • Australian Red Cross and Melaleuca Refugee Centre are providing emergency relief for international students and VISA holders who have lost employment or income. Contact 0403 987 018 for assistance. (correct as at 9 April 2020)

  • Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission are providing all legal information, legal advice, representation, access to community legal education and policy reform work by telephone or audio-visual. People with legal problems or concerns about how their legal matters will proceed can call 1800 019 343. (correct as at 06 May 2020)
