NT Shelter Chief Executive Officer Annie Taylor will be participating for the second time in 2026, last year she raised over $2 thousand.

“The reason I’m doing the sleepout is because we’ve got 12 times the national rate of homelessness in the Northern Territory, so it’s here more than anywhere else in the country,” she said.

“It’s really important that every year we do what we can to support people experiencing homelessness, particularly rough sleeping,”

“And also to raise awareness at the fact that it is quite severe in the Northern Territory.”
