In 2023, NT Shelter and the Northern Territory Office of the Children’s
Commissioner jointly released the report “They Can’t Go Back Home”, Young
People and Homelessness in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Since the report’s
release, youth homelessness in Alice Springs, and the Northern Territory (NT)
more broadly, has remained a core focus across all levels of government,
specialist homelessness services, and peak bodies.
